How safe is edelweiss Disinfectant?
Being alcohol free it is safe to use and much milder to the skin. For this reason children can safely use it as well. Edelweiss disinfectant has been dermatologically tested and proven to be safe for external use.
It is non irritating to the skin thereby protecting the outer vital barrier function of the skin which resides primarily in the uppermost epidermal layer.
IMPORTANT: FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY, YOU SHOULD NOT INGEST THE DISINFECTANT.
How long does it take to kill the germs?
It is generally a quick process. It is recommended rubbing your hands together for about 20 seconds after you apply hand disinfectant, allowing the formula to completely air dry. The dry time is critical to increasing the efficacy of the disinfectant. Rinsing or wiping off hand can cause it to be less effective.
Will it prevent me from getting infected?
The edelweiss Disinfectant protects you from transmission of any germs by killing the microorganisms on your hands. In this way it will provide protection not only to you but also to the people around you as you maintain germ-free hands.
Can my child use the edelweiss Disinfectant?
From a dermatologically point of view it is safe to use on the hands. It is less irritating to the skin and is also ideal to use on sensitive skin.
If used under adult supervision, it may be safely sprayed on children’s hands.
What protocol should I follow to prevent infection?
Together with wearing an edelweiss Virustatic Mask and social distancing, hand hygiene is of paramount importance. Washing hands regularly followed by edelweiss Disinfectant will remove/kill germs that are on your hands. In this way you will remain protected preventing any transmission of germs from your hands.
Can microorganisms become resistant edelweiss Disinfectant?
The main ingredient in edelweiss Disinfectant is chlorine dioxide which has the advantage that it directly reacts with the cell wall of microorganisms. In contrast to non-oxidizing disinfectants, chlorine dioxide kills microorganisms even at a low concentration. Microorganisms cannot build up any resistance against chlorine dioxide.
How stable is the disinfectant?
If kept in a cool environment, well-sealed and protected from sunlight it is stable. Chlorine dioxide in water does not hydrolyze to any appreciable extent.
The shelf life is 1 year.
What criteria does the edelweiss disinfectant meet?
The product meets the criteria of DIN EN 13727, DIN EN 13624 und DIN EN 1500.
How to recycle the empty disinfectant dispenser?
The container is made of a plastic material and should be disposed of as you would do for all other plastic materials.
